About

When I started this blog, it was about conversations that I would have had with Yolandi and things that I would have told her. It is also a way of recording some of my memories with her so that I can share it with Devon and Jekita as they grow up.

Yolandi was my best friend and confidant. I don’t easily open up to people or trust them. What I allow people to know about me is merely the surface of how I actually feel.

Yolandi was the one person that I could tell everything to. Whilst we did not always agree with the decisions that the other made, we never judged each other, always gave our honest opinion and respected each other for that.

Yolandi passed away on 10 December 2009 after giving birth to my beautiful god-daughter.

Life hasn’t been the same since. I lost my confidant and my best friend.

However, this blog has become so much more than that. It is my outlet, a way to clear my head and to try and declutter it. It has helped me find myself and it continues to do so. It allows me to express my views and it helps me feel heard.

  1. Forgive me – I haven’t taken time until now to explore further than your TToT posts, and learn a bit more about who you are and how this blog came to be. Such a heartbreaking reason you have for writing, but also a powerfully motivating one, and a wonderful outlet for all of the emotions and thoughts you wish you could share with your dear friend.

I’m glad I took time to look further, and I admire your reasons for writing, as well as the writing itself 🙂 I shall keep reading 🙂
