The Diva in Me.

I have always been a plain Jane.

Maybe this has to do with the fact that I have 3 brothers and grew up around boys. I had girlfriends and although some of them were into fashion and the latest trends, my close friends were just as “plain” as me. They were great fun and style was most definitely the last thing that I would put down in a list of attributes when choosing friends.

I think that this may also have to do with the fact that we grew up quite poor and had to often wear “hand me downs”. I was usually lucky enough to get 2 new outfits a year, so the latest trends ( that were often very expensive) were not  on my shopping list.

It may also have to with the fact that I hate to “phaf”. I hate spending hours just on my hair and make- up, when I could be catching up on some  well-deserved sleep. I always believe in being neat and tidy, especially when dressing for work, but that does not mean spending hours in front of my mirror. I’m most comfortable in my jeans and t-shirt.

I’m also not very style conscious, and my clothes is generally very plain.

For all accounts I’m a plain Jane and happy (usually) happy to be one.

However, lately, I find myself following the fashion trends more and more. Following might I add, not necessarily wearing it. I also find myself liking clothes I never would have imagined I would like, wearing colours and matching items of clothing I would never have done 5 years ago! I’m even buying polka dots which 2 years ago, I would not be caught dead in as I hate(d) polka dots.

I think that I might be going through my teen and early adult years now.

Just this last weekend, found myself creating a board on pinterest just for clothes and style. I think I may be coming down with something as from the looks of the pins, I might be turning into quite a Diva.

Here are some of the outfits that I really like:47fd2eb3fb41bc2664d2888be9326c5d
